But this time it's not for my sake, it's for OTHERS sake. Because since I've gotten this I'm surpriced by the amount of people -ESPECIALLY other artists- who have NO idea what it is!
It is a HORRIBLE thing to suffer through as an artist, I wish people could be more aware of it because artists ARE in the riskzone of getting it. It doesn't mean that you WILL get it in the future or anything, I'm just saying that it's (sadly) a big possibility. It's even a bigger chance that you might get it if you are a woman.
So I'm just writing this to maybe make some people more aware of what it is. I am just talking out of my own perspective and some usual symptoms, but it is pretty easy to find information about it online if you just google it!
No mather if anyone reads it or not I still think it's worth to at least MENTION it, who knows, it might help someone out there?

Wacom Horror Warning peopleI realized i just been living in a lie. Been coloring with the wrong icc profile for almost 6 years. Its because all this time i had a secondary monitor like 8 years old that ive never notice it. I just bought recently a cheap and amazing monitor 23 inches aoc, and noticed that my cintiq tablet colors looked washed away.
I asked myself why all my drawings in deviant art dont look like in my cintiq, they look washed away or burned.
Because of two problems.
I have all my files in adobe 1998 icc, which its good for printing but not web browsing, but the most horrible one, its that the cintiq21ux.icc that came in my cd was really wrong. Got the correct one in a wacom europe page, my cintiq its first generation, so new drivers sucked hard doesnt work.
Also warning for those that have same old cintiq like me, new drivers screw up the pen, cuts the pressure in half or gives weird pressure to it-, and worst ive been coloring with pen pressure wrong and color really bad.

Fuck you. Pay me. -- A masterpost for artists.As an artist, you probably will be approached by various people over time. Some may be looking for commissions, others will most likely be looking for free art.
Here are some handy resources concerning the "free art"-people. First of all, there's this handy flowchart called "Should I Work For Free?.
If they say they'll pay you with:
-Exposure
-Eventual cut of the profit when profits are made
-No pay, since artists "shouldn't be sell-outs, but draw for fun"
Then run for the hills and get away as fast as you can.
Because if it's for a game, a comic or another for-profit project, the most normal response should be "Fuck you. Pay me." (worded politer, though that goes without saying).
Spec-work? -- Fuck you. Pay me.

Hello! For those of you who are interested, we will be accepting public art submissions to fill up some extra slots in the artbook starting today. There are a limited number of slots available for public submissions. So, all submissions will go through a selection process by the #D0LLARS staff.

Please read through all of the rules and regulations for artwork submissions below before asking any questions. Any artwork that fails to meet any of the following will be automatically disqualified.

By submitting your artwork, you are acknowledging the following terms and conditions:
Theme: Express your interpretation of the colors and emotions conveyed in a specific music genre. Please, pick genres other than "Anime music" / JPOP / KPOP. We're looking for more variety. (You may mix close genres, but make clear what you wish to portray.)

You are allowing the staff of #D0LLARS to print your artwork for the Symphonic Hue Artbook and utilize it for Symphonic Hue related promotions. You will not receive any compensation for your artwork. This is strictly charity work.

Your submission must be 100% completed by you and you alone. No collaborations will be accepted.

Submissions must be original artworks. No fan art will be allowed whatsoever.

Artwork must be newly completed for the Symphonic Hue Artbook. No prior-completed artwork will be accepted.

Submissions for the Symphonic Hue Artbook can NOT be released to the public (i.e., posted online or shown to others) until after the artbook sales close. For submissions that are not selected, you may post your artwork after receiving our notification.

All artwork must be PG-13. No nudity, profanity, excessive gore and or violence.

Artwork must be colored. You may submit monochrome images, but no lineart will be accepted.

No artwork with blank or solid color backgrounds will be accepted. Don't leave more than 20% of negative space in your image.

The artwork may not contain any text in it.

Artwork must be in the following size and formats:
Digital artwork only. No scanned or photographed traditional work will be accepted.

PORTRAIT orientation. No landscape images will be accepted.

219.96 x 307 mm at 300dpi (2598 x 3626 pixels)

CMYK profiles only.

File format: JPEG for the selection process. Please scale your JPEG submission to 25% of the full size. If your submission is accepted, have a .PDF or .PSD of your submission at its full size to submit.

The deadline for submissions is ~~March 1, 2013 at 23:59 EST~~ March 14, 2013 at 23:59 EST. No submissions after this time will be accepted. No exceptions.

How to submit:
Upload your JPEG to your deviantART sta.sh.

Send me, *MORUFiN, a note with the subject as "Symphonic Hue: SUBMISSION" on deviantART with the artwork link. Notes sent to the #D0LLARS group or improperly titled notes will be ignored.
